Have you seen Kalevala Jewelry's Joutsenlempi? It is a jewelry series designed at the request of Laatukoru, which is sold only in the online store and in our stores. Henri Silván of Laatukoru explains how the jewelry was born and what it wants to convey.
Laatukoru has already designed a jewelry series in cooperation with Kalevala Jewelry for the second time, which is sold exclusively in Laatukoru's stores and online store. This time, a unique Joutsenlempi jewelry series was born, which includes a pendant and earrings. In the jewelry, a pure white freshwater pearl is combined with mirror-clear, shimmering silver.
"The design of Joutsenlempi jewelry started from the idea that we want to highlight Finnishness and the traditions of jewelry making," says Henri Silván.
"Both Laatukoru and Kalevala Koru are Finnish traditional goldsmith companies whose core operations are domestic jewelry design and manufacturing. We wanted to highlight these things that are important to us with the help of a joint jewelry series."
In the form of Joutsenlempi jewelry, you can recognize the gallant swan, which is Finland's national bird. A combination of silver and pearl, which conveys purity and sensitivity, was chosen as the material at Laatukoru's request. Kalevala Koru manufactures the Joutsenlempi series by hand in Helsinki.
The jewelry was designed by Kalevala Jewelry goldsmith Taru Harmaala Chaloff . Among his works are Kalevala Jewelry's Syli-pendant . Chaloff's jewelry is characterized by a reduced and graphic design language, which can also be seen in Joutsenlempi jewelry.
"Joutselempi jewelry is an excellent gift for a woman who appreciates Finnishness and domestic craftsmanship. These jewelry have a precious gentleness. That's why the jewelry is suitable for both everyday life and celebrations - according to the wearer's preferences and the mood of the day," says Henri.
10 percent of every Joutsenlempi piece of jewelry sold is donated to charity. The sale of jewelry supports the activities of Lastenklinikoiden Kummit ry. The same also applies to Laatukorun and Kalevala Koru's previously jointly designed Tuike series , as well as many other Laatukoru's Kummit products.
