Kalevala Fountain

The Fountain jewelry series was inspired by the verses of our national poet Johan Ludvig Runeberg's (1804-1877) beloved poem "Lähteelle". Jewelry designer Kirsti Doukas designed the jewelry series in honor of the 200th anniversary of the poet's birth in 2004.

The light blue topaz used in Fountain jewelry sparkles fresh like a clear spring, beautifully reflecting light rays. The delicate picture of the summer nature in the poem's lyrics has been etched in the minds of Finns also as a composition: "I look at your beautiful spring, like your water. Like the shadows of a cloud wander in your image."
