The Story of Silván Diamond Jewelry

The story of Silván diamond jewelry began in 1972, when Keijo Silván, the founder of Laatukoru, started making jewelry in the basement of his home. Today, already in its third generation, the family business includes, in addition to the online store, a network of 12 stores and its own Silván diamond jewelry collection.

The production of Silván diamond jewelry takes place in Hyvinkää, at Laatukoru's own jewelry workshop. A dozen goldsmiths work in the workshop, where the diamond rings, diamond earrings and diamond pendants of our collection are made by hand. We use 14 and 18 carat yellow, white and rose gold as well as platinum in our jewelry. All the gold we use is 100 percent recycled and the diamonds are high quality, responsible and conflict-free.

All diamond jewelry in the Silván collection is made in our workshop in Hyvinkää. Jewelry are made as individual pieces or in small series. Silván gold diamond earrings are made of 14 or 18 carat yellow, white and rose gold. The gold we use is 100 percent recycled and thanks to careful processing and cleaning, it is always as good as new gold. By using recycled gold, the valuable material is reused. This reduces the environmental impact of gold production and the need for new gold mining.

We select the diamonds in our jewelry using exact criteria. We buy diamonds from large, European diamond exchanges that are committed to complying with industry standards. Diamonds are conflict-free and do not finance the rebel movements. We require our suppliers to be responsible, such as respecting human rights in the various stages of production, taking environmental impacts into account, safe and responsible work practices, and supporting local communities. We always require a written certificate from our suppliers about the origin and ethics of the diamonds. For the customer, Silván diamond earrings always come with a certificate of authenticity, which shows the quality and authenticity of the diamonds.
