Silver Kalevala Filigree pendant
Kalevala-The lacy pattern of the Filigree pendants, which have been in the collection since 1961, will delight from decade to decade and even century to century. The Filigree jewellery represents the style worn by the wealthy ruling class of the 17th century. Such filigree jewellery was common in Sweden at the time, and from there it spread to the coastal towns of western Finland. This filigree pendant is also inspired by a gold ring with elaborate filigree patterns from Sweden.
Filigree is an old goldsmith's technique of soldering thin threads to a frame. This creates a delicate and lacy pattern. The silver pendant features a clear zircon in the centre of the filigree pattern. The length of the chain that comes with the pendant is adjustable, 45/50 cm.
