The Fountain by Johan Ludvig Runeberg (1804-1877) is one of our national poet's most beloved poems. Its delicate image of summer nature is also etched in the minds of Finns in the form of a song. Like shadows of a cloud wandering in your reflector." Runeberg's verses have inspired jewellery designer Kirsti Doukas. Her Fountain jewellery is adorned with a light blue gemstone, topaz. The gemstone shimmers and shines like a bright source from which rays of light are reflected. The silver frame around the stone resembles the surface of still water. The fountain jewel commemorates the 200th anniversary of Runeberg's birth.
