Designed by Häiväoja, the ultra-modern silver jewellery looks just as futuristic today as it did over half a century ago. Autumn 2019 Kalevala Two silver rings designed by Paula Häiväoja in the 1960s will return to the collection. The rings are not only examples of Häiväoja's distinctive design language, but also a snapshot of the open-mindedness and forward-looking spirit of 1960s Finnish design.

Paula Häiväoja (1929 - 2011) was Kalevala The first female jewellery designer. She graduated from the Institute of Art and Design as a fashion artist in 1953 and started her career as a fashion designer. Kalevala Koru three years later. Häiväoja worked as head designer from 1963 until 1967, when she became a freelance designer and opened her own studio.
