Stunning silver and yellow gold plated graduation lyre. It has a diameter of 16mm, which is the official size. On the back there is a needle for attaching the lyre.

What is a graduation or mother's lyre?

In Finland, the matriculation lyre is usually given by a new matriculation student before the graduation ceremony as a tribute to his or her mother for her upbringing and other care. The mother who has received the lyre can wear it not only at her own child's graduation but also when visiting others' graduation parties or important family celebrations.

In general, the mother has one lyres for each child she has graduated, and they are usually worn at the same time. The mother's lyre is attached to the left, or heart side, while the usual brooches are worn on the right side.
